Temporomandibular Joint Syndrome (TMJ)

The tempromandibular joint (T.M.J.) can be the source of chronic facial pain, jaw joint soreness, headaches, chewing difficulties, and even neck pain. Dr. Dapice's treatment focuses on conservative methods of therapy such as exercises to stretch and relax the ligaments and muscles in the jaw, massage, moist heat application, and a biteguard. The purpose of the biteguard is to relieve stress and tension on the joint and to prevent breakage of teeth and fillings.
